Tang Soo Do

The art of Tang Soo Do is fundamentally one of self defence.  It is bound by a strong moral code and encourages the development of the student into a well rounded, honest, responsible individual.  Yong Gi Do (YGD) as founded by Master Malyon, is a family based club committed to family, community and the development of children and adults into mature, responsible members of the community.  YGD regularly undertakes community project work such as; Anti-bullying workshops in schools and knife attack defence skills, as well as fundraising projects for designated charities.

Each member is treated individually according to their needs and abilities with a holistic approach to improve physically, mentally and spiritually.  All students are taught how to defend themselves, how to deal with real life situations, fitness is emphasized, as is good discipline and good manners.  Opportunities arise for those interested in competing at local/national and world events.

YGD is committed to providing National Training courses to students who wish to progress to teaching.  All Black Belts/Instructors must qualify in Child Protection/Health and Safety/First Aid and Coaching.  This ensures high standards of instruction to all students.  Instructors are fully insured and regularly CRB checked to safeguard compliance to National Standards and child safety.

Students are given the opportunity to progress through a comprehensive syllabus – being graded at regular intervals and achieve the coveted “Black Belt”.  Students not wishing to grade are able to train and meet their own personal goals with regular instructor guidance.  Yong Gi Do prides itself on providing specialised tuition for children whilst giving older children and adults the challenges and opportunities they require.

Master Malyon has over 35 years experience in martial arts holding “Black Belts” in Judo, MMA, Tang Soo Do and Kyokushinkai Karate.
